When it comes to building websites for small businesses, one of the most common questions I get is: why Wix?
There are a lot of platforms out there, but I consistently choose Wix and now Wix Studio because they offer the best balance between flexibility, performance, and long-term control for my clients.
I’m not affiliated with Wix in any way, it’s simply the platform I choose to use based on what I’ve found works best for my clients.
Not All Website Platforms Are Created Equal
Platforms like WordPress, Squarespace, and Shopify all have their place. But for many small businesses, they can either feel too restrictive or too complex to manage long-term.
What I look for is a platform that allows for custom design, strong SEO foundations, and a user-friendly backend—and that’s where Wix stands out.
Built for Flexibility and Custom Design
Wix allows for fully custom layouts, which means your website isn’t locked into a template that looks like everyone else’s.
Whether it’s a service-based business, a salon, or a therapy practice, I can design something that actually reflects your brand while still keeping everything clean and functional.
You’re Not Locked Out of Your Own Website
One of the biggest reasons I use Wix is that it gives my clients the option to take control of their own website if they want to.
After launch, you’re not dependent on a developer for every small update. You can easily edit text, swap images, update services, or post blogs—without breaking your site.
Of course, I’m always here for support, but you have the flexibility to manage things yourself depending on your comfort level.
SEO-Friendly Structure from the Start
A good-looking website isn’t enough. It also needs to be set up so people can find it.
Wix has come a long way in terms of SEO, and when built properly, it allows for strong page structure, metadata control, and ongoing optimization.
This means your site isn’t just visually appealing, it’s built to support long-term growth.
A Smart Balance of Control and Support
What I like most about Wix is that it meets clients where they’re at.
If you want to be hands-on, you can be. If you’d rather have ongoing support, that’s always an option too.
It’s a platform that grows with your business, instead of limiting it.
Final Thoughts
At the end of the day, the platform matters—but how it’s used matters more.
Wix gives me the flexibility to design strategic, functional websites, while giving my clients the freedom to stay involved in their business long after launch.
If you’re considering a Wix website or want something that’s both easy to manage and professionally built, feel free to reach out. I’d be happy to chat about what would work best for your business.
